SWIMMING
The Fermata Club is known throughout the region for its exceptional swim programs. Swim lessons and clinics are offered to members and guests during the pool season which runs from May to October in the brand new pool that opened in Summer 2006.
The Fermata Hurricanes swim in the CSRA Division II summer swim team league. The swim season starts with practices in May and continues until the summer championship meet in July.
POOL NEWS:
The pool is closed for the fall and winter seasons.
Lap swimmers who have keys may continue to swim until the pool temperature is prohibitive.
Current temperature prohibites swimming at this time.
Volunteer and lifeguard hours will again be available in the spring.
More hours can be made available with member assistance. Call 648-6373 to volunteer.
Fermata Aquatic Programs:
Fermata Swim Lessons are designed around the American Red Cross "Learn-to-Swim" program. Lessons are for all ages of children. All lessons are taught by an American Red Cross trained Water Safety Instructor. Click Here for a copy of the swim lesson information including availability dates and level classification standards.

The Fermata Hurricanes introduces our new swim team coach,
Brittany Gobat.
Britanny started swimming with Aiken-Augusta Swim League (ASL) at 7 years old and went on to swim at Georgia Tech. She tells us a little about herself, " I have worked with ASL with the Splash program, now named the Learn to Swim, which is a developmental swim program that prepares young swimmers to swim with ASL. I have coached with the North Augusta Counry Club summer league team. Last summer I was the assistant coach at Fermata. Beginning in the fall of 2010, I became an asistant coach with ASL. I coach the White group, swimmers around age 6-8, and help with other groups when needed. I look forward to working with everyone this summer so let's have some fun and swim fast!"
